It`s crazy to think about it but we are almost half way through the year so it`s safe to say 2013 is the year of long-awaited comebacks and new music. Some were rumoured for months, we knew some of them will happen one day but had no idea when exactly, yet others simply dropped a new song out of the blue. I collected these into one blog because it`s All Star Month on Buzznet and everyone loves a great comeback.
Take a look on this list and let me know your favourite comeback ever in the comments below! It doesn`t have to be from this year though.
Fall Out Boy
Let`s get down to business and talk about the most anticipated and rumoured comeback that I can remember first. Rumours of a possible comeback were around ever since FOB went on hiatus breaking a lot of hearts in 2009. These got especially intensive in the past 6 or so months; even musical insiders talked about it but the members kept denying everything until the 4th of February this year: Fall Out Boy came off hiatus, gave us a new single, a release date of a new album and even new tour dates, starting the same day with an intimate show! I believe that was a day to remember for everyone. The album 'Save Rock And Roll' isn`t out until next month but it`s streaming online so go and listen to the new Fall Out Boy!
Paramore may have not gone on hiatus but the release of 'Brand New Eyes' happened ages ago (2009) and the departure of the Farro brothers in 2010 kept people occupied on what they can come up with as a trio. The first action was to release 'Monster' as a single and part of the Transformers 3 movie soundtrack in the summer of 2011 then we had to wait again...until 'Now', the first single of the new self-titled album (out now!), came out and things speeded up for them so much that I can hardly keep up. Paramore (along with Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance -rest in piece but for long please) are everywhere!
If Paramore`s 2009 release happened ages ago, then I don`t know what to call the 2006 release 'FutureSex/LoveSounds'...stone age, maybe? Don`t you worry though because JT is back with an extremely long (everyone seems to complain about its lenght) new album 'The 20/20 Experience' which -according to NME- "is the fastest selling album of 2013 so far".
Beyonce is the absolute pop diva. She makes unbelievable comebacks each time - the Super Bowl performance was one of them - she releases new material and that`s what I love in her. Even when I don`t always find the music that good there is something that makes me appreciate her work.
No one was expecting new music from Bowie who hasn`t released any new material for a decade now. Yet, a new single surfaced on the legendary singer`s 66th birthday in January and the new album 'The Next Days' is out now. The great news lead fans to demand a new tour with the album but it`s still unlikely. You can still visit London`s V&A Museum to see the 'David Bowie Is...' exhibition, which runs until August 2013, to experience something amazing related to the artist and his work.
The British pop-duo became one of my new favourites of the 2010 year when I first heard the song 'Better Than Love' so I was excited to finally hear new songs. Their second studio album 'Exile' was released this March and it sticks to the melancholic yet powerful sound that one could expect from Hurts.
Bring Me The Horizon
Following the 2010 release of their third album 'There Is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is a Heaven, Let's Keep It a Secret.', the band`s new album may have leaked earlier but 'Sempiternal' is officially out now and it`s BMTH`s best work to date so far. That`s all you need to know to listen to the new material and that in the upcoming months they are doing tours all over the UK, Europe and Warped Tour as well.
