Christmas Countdown: Rockin` Around The Christmas Tree
On Christmas Day, I`m pretty sure most of the people are sick of listening to 'All I Want For Christmas' or 'Last Christmas' over and over again everywhere. Here is a list of my favourite holiday songs by my favourite rock/alternative bands for those who want a more rock 'n' roll and in no way traditional celebration.
The Maine - Mr Winter
They`re just brilliant at what they`re doing and festive songs aren`t an exception of it either. New Christmas EP for 2013, please!
All Time Low - Merry Christmas, Kiss My Ass
After the 2010 release of the song, All Time Low came out with a video for it last year representing one of those crappy holiday parties at the office. I bet the parties at the Buzznet HQ are much better. However this should be the ultimate revenge for those who got dumped just before the holidays. Go and post the song on your ex`s Facebook wall!
The Killers - Christmas Medley (2006-2012)
Someone was kind enough to put all 7 Christmas tracks, The Killers made for the (RED) Champaign during the years, into one YouTube video therefore I`m saved of choosing between 7 awesome songs to include only one of them to the list. Yay! Still, I think 'The Cowboy`s Christmas Ball' is my most favourite...or 'Happy Birthday Guadaloupe'...See, it`s difficult.
Lower Than Atlantis - Merry Christmas (Wherever You Are)
Looks like the LTA-Santa has lost his way to the Noth Pole. Instead of climbing chimneys, he ended up trolling around the town of Watford and getting drunk while carrying a huge radio in 80`s style, blasting the band`s brand new song. Sorry kids, no toys this year. Only music.
The Ramones - Merry Christmas ( I Don`t Want To Fight Tonight)
I didn`t know about the existence of this song until now but it clearly shows how a Christmas shouldn`t be like. Stop fighting each other at least now and enjoy the time together!
The Darkness - Christmas Time (Don`t Let The Bells End)
I`m not a fan of The Darkness but this song and the video are way too hilarious to miss it out from the list.
Blink 182 - Boxing Day
A must have for all the pop-punk/punk-rock/etc lovers. Also one of the songs from the brand new Blink 182 Ep 'Dogs Eating Dogs'.
Hurts - All I Want For Christmas Is New Year's Day
This is my favourite festive music video ever yet the darkest. I mean who has seen a Christmas tree coming out of a grave before?
Kids In Glass Houses - Secret Santa
Now, forget all of the songs I listed above and the usual boring holiday songs too and stick with this one for ever. I`m not only saying this because I love Kids In Glass Houses and wish they weren`t underrated at all but because this is literally THE BEST Christmas song I`ve ever heard!
What is your favourite Rocktmas-song ever?
