A gallery for the things I`ve found at the church`s yard. Well, gravestones mostly but the yard is so hidden behind the church and with high brick walls that it`s the perfect place if you would like to hide from the world and think. Squirrels like the place too!
As everything in England (in my opinion), this place has some historical stories as well. Singer of the Georgian era and mistress of John Montague - the 4th Earl of Sandwich, Matha Ray (1742-1779) was burried here after she got shot in Covent Garden by James Hackman, a soldier who wanted to propose her but she declined several times. I wish I`ve known this at the time I was here so I could find her grave but I found out about Martha`s story after my visit by accident. I`ll try to find it next time.
I`ve used sepia to make the yard look more enchanted and mysterious. The title is reference to D.R.U.G.S.`s song 'Graveyard Dancing'.
Let me know if you find some ghosts!!!
