I took this photo of Lake Balaton in Zamardi on Monday. I haven`t been down there for years now and forgot how great atmposphere the lake has got and you can also have a dip in the water if you fancy and the weather is gorgeous. I should go more often.
Balaton is the largest lake in Central Europe. On the other side of the lake you can spot the Half-Island of Tihany; that and the beach in Zamardi makes the narrowest point of the entire lake and there are scheduled ferries that take you from one coast to another.
I supposed to lead groups of tourists on the Savaria Historical Carnival as a volunteer this weekend but the tourist office couldn`t do it`s job properly so there weren`t people to lead. I ended up looking after cutie puppies and kittens at an animal rescue organization`s tent. Needless to say it had more pleasure. Those animals are so loving and I hope they will find the same loving homes very soon. There were actually few people interested in adopting them so their situation is not that hopeless, especially that all of them are living at temporary homes until, instead of unfriendly small kennels at an animal shelter.
My original plan was to head out with my camera and take photos for a photo-blog about the carnival but the weather is rubbish this weekend. I`m so not happy about this because this is the last weekend of summer! I`m stuck in the house and listening to music instead - Death Cab For Cutie is on at the moment.
