Pirate Life
Well, the weekend was eventful.
I thought I`ll use the crappy cold weather as a day to imbibe history and arts on Saturday so Wero and I went to the British Musem and had late lunch. Despite the weather, we walked down to Tate Modern and also found The Old Curiosity Shop from Dickens` book by accident. It looks lovely and I wish most of London looked that old with less new buildings. Sometimes it`s a little surreal to find the old and modern architecture mixed together all around the city. I think old looks better.
7 o`clock tea and dessert happened at a cafe with a view on St. Paul`s basilica. I love having food right next to famous buildings with a view on them, haha. By the way if I ever talk about Pantheon or St Peter`s basilica in London in the future, I actually talk about St. Paul`s. They are all look the same! And I keep mixing them up.
We also walked down the river bank to Tower Bridge where I took some photos. The Tower looks haunted at night and I don`t understand why there are a couple of fake lions in the middle of a daffodil meadow at its garden. They scared me though.
Today, I went to Saint Albans to meet with other friends but it was even more freezing to do anything but eating at places. One of the Wetherspoons we one looked so nice. I posted a photo of it on both FB and Twitter. I looked like Christmas and Harry Potter mixed together. Real fireplace (sadly the seats next to it were taken), fairy lights, wooden and leather furniture and the barbeque smell reminded me of summer garden parties at home.
I also talked to my family. Guess what? They bought a new webcam and put the old out to the dogs so I could watch the dogs too. Amazing.
The photo was taken at the British Museum.
