That`s true!

Dora Explorer was on an unplanned but successful mission.

I was on my little shopping walk in Borehamwood after I`ve finally got out of bed at 2pm (details in another post). I already mentioned the Elstree Studios are placed here.

There are little boards about the studio`s history along the pavement on the main street. I was having a chocolate break next one of them and started to read it. The board was about Stanley Kubrick`s work at Elstree Studios. Among of others of his films, "Lolita" and "A Clockwork Orange" were filmed here but there is an even more interesting thing: I`m living by 5 minutes walk away from the building where the famous horror "Shining" was filmed!

It is awesome and creepy at the same time. I didn`t went in to the house but I`m planning for next time. Or at least will try to get in. It should be easy since it isn`t a filming scene anymore and normal people are living in there. Anyway it has home vibes because lot of people are living in panel flats like this in Hungary. I haven`t read the book or seen the film but I definitely have to.

I told about this to the host dad when I got home and he was like: "What?! I`m living more than 16 years here and have had no idea about this! I have read the book, really like the film and drove by that house gazillions of times! I can`t believe!" Well, this happens if you always go by car... :D
